At the beginning of 2015, Fonterra opened a new site in Heerenveen, where it produces Whey Protein Concentrate (WPC), Whey Protein Isolate (WPI) and lactose. Fonterra has implemented an intensive quality control programme for this facility, and has contracted NutriControl to conduct the analysis of raw materials, process samples and end products.
‘NutriControl is an ISO17025-accredited laboratory and has a broad accredited analysis suite for dairy and dairy products. With their broad knowledge of and experience in the dairy industry, they are furthermore able to advise us concerning the use of the right analysis methods and can quickly respond to our needs for developing and validating new analysis methods,’ says Hans Berghorst, Director Operations Europe at Fonterra, to explain why Fonterra opted for NutriControl.
